American Soldier
i think that this is one of the most powerful images because it shows Ian struggling between him being a soldier and him living a normal life in society. it shows that he is contemplating if he made the right decision.
they work together because it's a timeline of his journey and what different emotions come with his decisions.
the captions give the reader background knowledge of whats happing in the photo along with the timeline of the events happening.
Ian fisher enlisted in the military and went into training soon after he graduated high school. Training was a very hard adjustment and was really troubling for him, he considered leaving already. He made it through training and had an extremely difficult time during enlistment with not only the war itself but relationships and substance abuse issues. he almost got kicked out but his dad gave him a second chance by sending him to a new platoon and dropping his rank. He eventually returned home and got married to his girlfriend.

present tense
1. How many sentences are they on average? 1-3 sentences
2. Read the first sentence of a couple of them, what information do they provide? a quick description of what Ian is doing.
3. Read the second sentences of a couple of them, what information do they provide? an explanation of the events that is happening.
4. If there is a third sentence, what information does it provide? usually a quote
5. Do any captions include a quote? most of the captions have a quote in them.
6. Are there any that have four sentences? no
i think that you can because it's like a timeline in a book which is chronological. it gives out the backstory like a memory.
because a story has the full story not just parts of it. it gives more detail and better descriptions of the events rather than in just 1 to 3 sentences.

aperture, shutter speed, ISO questions
it is like the pupil.
smaller the aperture the more busier the background bigger the aperture the blurrier the background
it affects the depth of field by bringing the subject more in focus. and making it appear closer.
Shutter speed:

Shutter speed:
low shutter speed
- low shutter speed
- low shutter speed
- high shutter speed
- low shutter speed

- high shutter speed
to change the shutter speed is to set the camera to the shutter priority mode, make sure in manual mode, turn ISO off then point
manual- control then shutter and choose the ISO or the aperture for automatic or not.
shutter priority- manual sets the shutter speed and the camera automatically sets the aperture.
ISO- the values that the camera picks up.
- it reduces blur
- If there is plenty of light, you are free to use a low ISO and minimize the appearance of noise as much as possible.
- fighting against motion blur.
