photo editing and ethics

A. What are some of the main points you read about in the website above regarding manipulating images?
who's in charge,  who manages to release the photos, and what happens when no one is in charge.

B. What is the philosophy of newspapers like the Washington Post and the New York times regarding image manipulation?

the photographers give proofs in order to turn in their photographs. the Washington Post and New York Times have very struct rules and ethics for their photos while others have less ethics. they do it to enhance their validity of the stories.

C. What do you think are acceptable things you could do to an image and not cross the line unto an unethical manipulation?
i think whats acceptable is to not do anything at all to the photo and keep it real and factual.

i think that this is the most unethical because it could have hurt Sarah Palin's future as a nominee for vie president. it could have damaged her future chances to win any elections because of the bad PR the republicans might not choose her next time or at all.

i think this is one of the least unethical manipulation because it's only to get family in the photo that were not there at the time of the photo. it does not cause many controversies because of just the inconvenience of that family member not being there. it's not really hurting anyone it's just to fix a problem.
